President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, on his 60th birthday, commending his contributions to Nigeria’s private sector, financial markets, public service and national development.
President Tinubu, in a personally signed birthday message issued on Thursday, September 24, 2026, described Aig-Imoukhuede as one of a generation of Nigerians who took bold bets on the country and demonstrated that Nigerian institutions could compete at the highest levels.
The President highlighted Aig-Imoukhuede’s achievements during his tenure at Access Bank, where he became Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in 2002 and led the institution through a period of significant growth.
Tinubu noted that Aig-Imoukhuede currently serves as Chairman of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group, while also maintaining a strong presence in Nigeria’s financial and economic development space.
According to the President, Aig-Imoukhuede has also played significant roles in strengthening the country’s financial markets, having served as President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and founding Chairman of FMDQ Securities Exchange.
He currently serves as Co-Chairman of EnterpriseNGR.
Beyond the private sector, Tinubu commended Aig-Imoukhuede for his willingness to undertake public responsibilities, particularly his role in 2012 as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on the Verification and Reconciliation of Fuel Subsidy Payments.
The President also praised Aig-Imoukhuede and his wife, Ofovwe, for their philanthropic and institutional development efforts through the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation.
Tinubu said the foundation has contributed to improving public service, preparing public servants for greater responsibility and supporting initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
“I am pleased that after considerable success in private enterprise, Aigboje continues to devote his experience and resources to the progress of our country,” the President said.
Reflecting on the significance of the 60th birthday milestone, Tinubu said Aig-Imoukhuede’s career had impacted numerous institutions and created opportunities for many people.
“Sixty is an important milestone. For Aigboje, it is also an opportunity to reflect on a career that has touched many institutions and opened doors for many people,” the President stated.
Tinubu joined Aig-Imoukhuede’s wife, children, family, friends and associates in celebrating the milestone, while wishing him good health, happiness and many more years of service to Nigeria and humanity.
