Polaris Bank Marks 2026 Customer Service Week, Pledges to Go ‘The Extra Mile’

LAGOS, Nigeria – September 28, 2026: Polaris Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to customer-centric banking as it joins organisations worldwide to celebrate the 2026 Customer Service Week from October 5 to 9, with the theme, “The Extra Mile.”

The bank said the theme reflects its longstanding focus on placing customers at the centre of its operations while continually improving the quality of their banking experience.

According to Polaris Bank, Customer Service Week provides an opportunity not only to appreciate its customers but also to recognise employees who consistently demonstrate exceptional service and reinforce the importance of customer-centricity across the organisation.

The bank noted that its annual Customer Service Week celebrations have evolved over the years to reflect different aspects of its service culture.

In 2020, the bank celebrated under the theme “Dream Team,” recognising the collective efforts of employees in sustaining service delivery during a challenging period. The 2021 celebration maintained the focus on service excellence and customer appreciation, while the 2022 edition highlighted the importance of meaningful customer relationships and value delivery.

In 2023, the theme “Team Service” emphasised collaboration as a key component of seamless customer experiences. The 2024 celebration further strengthened the bank’s focus on service excellence and customer engagement, while the 2025 theme, “Mission: Possible,” underscored employees’ ability to overcome challenges and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Polaris Bank said its focus on customer experience has also received external recognition.

The bank was reported in the 2022 KPMG Customer Experience Survey as the most improved bank in Nigeria’s retail banking segment, moving five places to sixth position. The recognition reflected efforts to improve the quality and consistency of customer interactions.

Speaking ahead of the 2026 celebration, the Managing Director/CEO of Polaris Bank, Kayode Lawal, said customers remained central to the bank’s growth.

“Customers are at the heart of everything we do. Their feedback, trust and partnership challenge us to keep improving and delivering value every day. Customer Service Week is an opportunity to recognise that relationship and remind ourselves that great service must go beyond expectation,” Lawal said.

The bank explained that “The Extra Mile” speaks to the changing expectations of modern banking customers, adding that exceptional service could involve listening more attentively, resolving issues promptly, providing clearer information, anticipating customer needs, simplifying processes and demonstrating empathy.

Polaris Bank said the commitment cuts across its physical and digital customer touchpoints, including its branch and business network, contact centre and digital banking platform, VULTe.

It added that it would continue to focus on providing customers with a consistent and responsive experience, regardless of the channel through which they interact with the bank.

As part of the 2026 celebration, Polaris Bank said it would engage customers and recognise service champions through activities across its branches, digital channels and other customer touchpoints.

The bank will also use the occasion to encourage customer feedback and strengthen the connection between customer insights and continuous service improvement.

As Customer Service Week 2026 approaches, Polaris Bank said it remains committed to making exceptional service an everyday practice rather than a once-a-year celebration.

The bank maintained that every customer interaction represents an opportunity to listen better, respond faster, demonstrate genuine care and create greater value.

For Polaris Bank, it said, “The Extra Mile” is more than a Customer Service Week theme; it is a commitment to making every customer interaction count.
