LASTMA Honours Three Officers for Outstanding Performance in Lagos
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has honoured three of its officers with the “Award of Outstanding Exemplary Performance” for their dedication to duty, professionalism and contributions to traffic management and public service in Lagos State.
The awards were presented by City Herald Magazine to Ajayi Bembe Babatunde, Zonal Head, Zone B; Adebanjo Alade, Comptroller, Apapa; and Age Luqman, Zonal Head, Bariga/Iyana-Oworo, at the LASTMA Headquarters in Oshodi, Lagos.
According to the organisers, the recognition was in appreciation of the officers’ commitment to duty, professional conduct and sustained efforts toward the effective discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
Speaking during the presentation, the General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, commended City Herald Magazine for recognising and celebrating officers who have distinguished themselves in the course of their duties.
Bakare-Oki said the award was a significant acknowledgement of the efforts of LASTMA personnel who work under challenging conditions to facilitate traffic flow, promote road safety and improve the motoring experience across Lagos.
He noted that recognising individual excellence would strengthen the Authority’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, discipline and public service.
The General Manager also congratulated the three recipients, urging them to sustain their standards of performance and commitment.
He stressed that excellence in public service should not be measured merely by the responsibilities attached to an office, but by the quality, integrity and impact with which such responsibilities are discharged.
Bakare-Oki further expressed optimism that the recognition would motivate other LASTMA officers to rededicate themselves to selfless service, professional probity, operational excellence and commitment to the public interest.
The presentation ceremony was attended by officials of LASTMA and representatives of City Herald Magazine.
The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the three officers and acknowledge their contributions to traffic management and public service in Lagos.
The statement was signed by Adebayo Taofiq, Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, LASTMA.
